Dacon Inspection Services recently completed the job during maintenance works for ESSO (Thailand) Public Co., Ltd in Laem-Chabang, Chonburi province.
From September – October 2014 more than 35 of Dacon’s IRATA certified inspectors and technicians were called to assist in the maintenance. Their tasks included insulation removal, weld seam identification, and insulation re-installation at heights through the use of rope access techniques.
The scope of the project also involved a number of conventional and advanced Non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques such as Visual Inspection (VI), Ultrasonic Thicknesses Measurement (UTM) and Positive Material Identification (PMI).
The project was split into 3 phases. During the initial phase the old insulation material was removed. Phase two, focusing on Non-destructive testing. The project concluded with the re-installation of the insulation materials in phase 3.
All assigned work was executed to the client’s full satisfaction and completed, per the project deadline.
